Road Trip, LA, Elder Ellett, and stuff.......

Well howdy dudey!

It has been eons since I last posted on this bad boy.

I have officially been in LA/Pasadena California for around 2 weeks! There is so much to tell in so little space. I'll do my best to be efficient and thorough.

First off, THANK YOU to those of you who helped make this summer possible. It has been so amazing to step into a leadership role at this IT Project as students lives are being ruined for the sake of advancing the Kingdom of God!

Secondly, the road trip out here:
It was a journey to get here in LA. Every leader and staff member but one road tripped out to LA from Fayetteville, Arkansas/Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was an incredible time getting to know these wonderful people and building friendships that will last a life time. Plus, I got to see some sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet things that my little innocent Iowan eyes had never seen before.

Exhibit 1: Cadillac Ranch- Amarillo, TX


This was......cool...... 10 half buried Cadillacs..... covered with spray paint that you can use to paint your own portraits...... naturally I obtained a can and sprayed a little tribute to my hawks....


Exhibit 2: Continental Divide


Turns out the continental divide is not a geographical area or site, but is actually a covered wagon! Who knew?!?!

Exhibit 3: The Grand Canyon


Measly pictures from an iphone or camera cannot do this justice. Holy holy holy. Seeing the Grand Canyon in person is a flat out worship experience. What an incredible creation. Here is a picture of Jillian and I at the Canyon of Grandness...... She's cute.....





Exhibit 4: LA


This is a picture of the first church we visited in downtown LA. It was held in a night club called The Mayan. The church, Mosaic Church, got to use the space for free because they promised to clean up the mess from the night before. Just a sweet way to serve lost people downtown and have people of God near to lost people.

Exhibit 5: Mormon Temple


This is the Mormon temple in LA. It is the second largest Mormon temple behind the one in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Mormon temple visit is a tough one. You go there expecting to meet some creepy, weird people who believe in rubbish. But, when you arrive and start talking you find out they are wonderful people. Pray that Mormons all over the earth would come to know that Jesus is unique and that we are dead in our transgressions and worthless without the saving grace of God.


The first two weeks of the project have been flying by. Perspectives class has started and students are incredibly busy doing readings and homework. Hearing the speakers has been amazing. So much truth has been thrown out. It is hard to retain all of it and put it into practice. Pray for this class and for the students to come to an even greater realization that the living God is a missionary God and that we have been given a mandate to spread God's glory to all nations!
