Wicked Sweet!

So, I have been leading a group of freshmen guys this semester and we are part of the freshmen group of 24/7 called Verve. Verve was really huge for me last year so it is awesome that I get to lead a group of guys through the same process. 

Anyways, last night we had a reallllllly cool opportunity at Verve. The pastor of our church (Parkview Church) is Jeff Gilmore. One of his daughters, Julianna, is married to Tampa Bay Rays utility plater Ben Zobrist. Because of this connection, last night at Verve Ben and Julianna came and talked about relationships, baseball, playing in the world series, and about living life in the big leagues with Christ as their center. It was such an awesome time. Ben and Julianna are really great people and they follow hard after the Lord in an environment that sometimes makes it really tough. They both gave us some really good scripture that they turn to in tough time and it good times and it was just really cool to see how even though they were big time, living in the spotlight, Jesus was number one above anything else. Just hearing their stories and their advice on relationships was a great help and I know our freshmen were blessed by it.
